Authorize Gmail SMTP

Authorize Google to Allow SMTP for Your Gmail

To send SMTP email using Gmail, you need to authorize Google to allow SMTP. Follow the steps below.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Configure SMTP Relay:

    • Go to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Routing.
    • Scroll to SMTP relay service and click Configure.
    • Enter a description (e.g., "SMTP for [software name] – [Your Brand] Outbound Mail Integration").
    • For Allowed Senders, select "Only addresses in my domain".
    • Under Authentication, choose Require SMTP Authentication.
    • Under Encryption, select Require TLS encryption.
  2. If Your G-Suite Account Uses 2-Step Verification:

    • Create an App Password:
      • Go to your Google Account > Security.
      • Under Signing in to Google, select App Passwords (you may need to sign in).
      • If not available, it could be due to:
        • 2-Step Verification not set up.
        • 2-Step Verification set only for security keys.
        • Account restrictions (work, school, or organization) or Advanced Protection enabled.
      • At the bottom, choose "Other - custom name" and enter [software name]-[Your Brand].
      • Click Generate, copy the 16-character code, and save it.
  3. Add Credentials to the Custom Email SMTP Server:

    • Navigate to Agency Dashboard and click the White Label tab.
    • Select Custom email SMTP Server.
    • Enter the following:
      • SMTP Server: smtp-relay.gmail.com
      • Port: 587
      • Encryption: TLS
      • Select SMTP Auth and enter your full email address and the 16-character App Password.
      • Enter your Sender/Reply-to Name and Email.
    • Click Send Test Email.

Once successful, you're DONE!
